For procurement intelligence

The pallet category, on Bloomberg-grade footing.

PSCI is the only publicly-available, reproducible cost-input index for pallets. Federal data. Published formula. Audit-ready citations. Priced like the data tools you already pay for, not like a vendor relationship.

  • PSCI is a weighted geometric mean

    PPI_pallet ^ 0.40 × PPI_lumber ^ 0.20 × Diesel ^ 0.20 × Wages ^ 0.15 × OCC ^ 0.05. The formula is on the methodology page. Every weekly value reproduces from public BLS and EIA series alone.

  • PSPI is the empirical price-paid measure

Anonymized aggregate of actual managed-program transactions. Validates PSCI weights against real corridor pricing. Where the federal composite diverges from observed prices, we publish the gap rather than hide it.

  • 30-day forward projection

AI Forecast Layer applies TimesFM 2.5 (Apache 2.0) to each federal series independently. Each projection with a 95% confidence band. The only publicly-published forward signal in the pallet cost category.

  • Audit-defensible reporting

CSV exports in Coupa schema, PDFs in Ariba layout. Every cost figure footnotes its federal source ID and snapshot date. When your procurement audit reviewer asks where the number came from, the answer is one click away.

Why this is priced like a data tool

Bloomberg Terminal $25K/seat. FactSet $15K/seat. Atlas+ from $9,500/yr.

Procurement teams subscribe to data tools without ever buying anything from the vendor that sells the tool. That is the model here. Atlas+ pays for the data, the methodology, and the workflow, not for the transactions. The two paths are decoupled: data-first buyers subscribe; relationship-first buyers come in through Managed Programs. We do not bundle them, and the funnel sorts itself.

Frequently asked questions

Why does PSCI need a paid subscription if the federal data is public?
The federal data is public, but the composite formula, the weights, the regional sub-indices, the 30-day projection, and the audit-ready exports are the value. You can rebuild PSCI yourself from the raw federal series; or you can subscribe to Atlas+ and have it in your Coupa export Tuesday morning. The historical PSCI series is itself released CC0; we sell the workflow.
How is PSCI different from a trade publication's benchmark?
Trade publications publish historicals without methodology disclosure. PSCI publishes the formula, the weights, the federal source URLs, and the audit logic on the methodology page. Every value is reproducible from public sources. No other index in the pallet category does this.
Can we trial it before subscribing?
Yes. The Tuesday Read newsletter is free and gives you the weekly PSCI movement plus the federal data behind it. Atlas+ adds the API, exports, regional sub-indices, and forward projection. Twenty-minute call gets you a guest credential for 30 days on your actual category.
Does subscribing obligate us to use Managed Programs?
No. They are decoupled by design. We operate a neutrality wall between published intelligence and managed sourcing services. Your subscription data does not feed our sales team; our sales activity does not influence the index methodology.
How accurate is the 30-day forecast?
TimesFM 2.5 on lumber, diesel, and wage series independently. Each projection publishes with a 95% confidence band; back-tested error on the underlying federal series is in the methodology changelog. We publish hits and misses both. The integrity of the forecast matters more than its swagger.
